On our latesst trip to DC, we take a fresh look at the National AFAM Museum. It was even more impressive the second time around. Some of the exhibits are breaktaking while others are hard to look at because of the sheer brutality involved. I have learned that there can be no American History without the inclusion of African American History and vice-versa. The curators do an excellent job of preserving and presenting history honestly, openly and with dignity and respect. I was a little shocked this time to see that there was a large percentage of patrons who were not desendants of the African people. This speaks volumes to the significance of this fine museum fondly referred to as the ‘Blacksonian.’
